Key AFL Player Transfers in 2010
Darren Jolly so far has been the only transfer to Collingwood; coming from the Swans, the ruckman from the 2005 grand final asked to be transferred closer to his family in Victoria (he almost didn’t make it to the final – his wife luckily gave birth the day before). Collingwood took him up, and it was against his soon-to-be-new-team he obtained the record for the highest amount of hitouts by a serving AFL player in a game. First playing in 2000, Jolly has a status to keep – that of one of the game’s leading ruckmen.
Troubled full forward Barry Hall has moved from the Sydney Swans to the Western Bulldogs, and many hope his concerns will be overshadowed by his superior ball-handling skills. In October last year, after his transfer to the Bulldogs, Hall kicked six goals in round 10 to make 600 career goals. Better known of late for his off-field antics, an acknowledgement that his behaviour needs to change heralded, hopefully, a new beginning for Hall who is entering his 15th season. Despite being newsworthy for more than just his football, Hall is highly decorated (best and fairest awards, international teams, leading goalkicker, co-captain) and should enjoy his time with the Hawks more than the Swans.

AFL NAB CUP 2010 Round 1
There are two things that came out of the first game of the 2010 NAB Cup first game for me, and being a Bomber fan I am not sure whether this is good practice to be saying something like this about your own team but anyway.
Kyle Reimers must NEVER play senior football again if the Bombers are going to go anywhere in the future! I know, I know it is only the first game of the NAB Cup but this guy just is not up to it. The sooner Mathew Knights and the Essendon coaching staff see that the better.
On the other side of the equation Nic Naitanui is going to be a Super Star. We (the Bombers) were short in the ruck department with no David Hille or Patrick Ryder but “Nicky Nat” is a freak! He is going to be one of those players like a Gary Ablett that will single handily get people through the turnstiles.
But hey the Bombers for mine showed a bit and look set to continue with their free flowing game. Jobe Watson lead from the front again, put him in your Super Coach Team. Prismall looked good and Williams will be a good fit up forward and I thought Belllchambers looked OK as well.
