AFL Football Short Passes - Things You May Have Missed

Just a quick post on what has been happening around the traps over the last few days.

Chris Judd Named to Play First Game

The NAB Cup Challenge Squads have been released for this weekend and all eyes were on the Carlton squad that was named and we saw the one and only C Judd there. He looks set to take on the Western Bulldogs on Friday at MC Labour Park and is expected to play a half. Get down and get a glimpse Blues Fans. If anyone makes the trip place a comment on this post and let us know how he looked.

Tigers Aiming For the Finals

Yes that is right, Kayne Pettifer (who is on my list of most irritating AFL Players) told Melbourne Radio Station SEN that the Tigers are aiming for the final 8 ! “Our goal is to make the finals and that is what we are striving for this year,” he also said that it is an even competition and anyone can beat anyone on any given day (enough any’s in there for you). Correct they can but just not the Tigers.

Doing it For the Fans

Neil Craig is promising Crows fans that his side will play a fast and free flowing style of football. And is something that his side is working really hard on. He wants to play in a way that the Crow supporters will be happy with. What about what you and the players are happy with and something that will win you games of football Neil?

Racial Abuse Raises It’s Ugly Head Again

Brownlow Medalist Adam Goodes has reveiled that he was racially abused by a “high profile” AFL Player in 2002. He was allegedly called “a f—— monkey-looking c—” during a game at the SCG.. Watch that one with interest as I am sure someone is on the case to find out who it was.

McLean OUT

The Demons leadership group continues it’s tough stance on player behaviour after suspending Nathan Carroll earlier in the year now Brock McLean has lost his spot in the Demons Leadership group after copping a speeding fine on the way home from the practise match last wee. Good thing Steve Johnson isn’t at the Demons.

Bomber Player Suspended For Night Out

Still on Player behaviour and young Bomber Tom Hislop has been suspended from the pre-season competition this year after an alcohol-related incident forced him to miss a training session. This was 5 weeks ago and has only been heard of now. He joins Andrew Lovett on the sidelines who was also suspended recently for 4 weeks. But both will be available for Round 1.

My biggest question is why is Goodes now bringing this up? Has the player now retired? Could bringing this up and causing striff mean Goodes could be charged with disrupting the game? Aker raised a past issue last year.

The Tigers coul d make the finals if they had everything their way. ie: no injuries to key players and other teams have major injuries and if they sack Wallace the has been and hire someone who can actually coach.
