Grainger, yeah I understand victoria has the most teams, but in state of origin it doesn’t matter which team you play for, it’s where you were born that matters. Each state can only pick from players born in their state, not their state’s AFL teams.
The number of teams a state has in the AFL is irrelevant to State of Origin.

I agree with Matt. While it is good to see S.O.O sort of making a comeback, I am disappointed with this ‘Dream Team’ idea. First of all, it seems like a lame attempt at making Victoria look better (ie. if they win, they’ve beaten ‘the rest of Australia’) Also if they lose, they can use the same excuse that they lost to ‘the rest of Australia’. It’s crap if you ask me, the rest of Australia does not need to be combined to take on Victoria. Each state is competitive in it’s own right. Basically I feel this game is just gonna be a big ego trip for Victorians. How is anyone else supposed to get any enjoyment from the game? The whole reason people go to the footy is to see their team try to win. Unfortunately, victoria is the only state to have a team in this ‘State of Origin’ match. The game hasn’t even started yet and already only 1 state can win.

I miss State of Origin and I am glad that it is back in some form. However this is the same format as the Legends game but with today’s players. I’d like to see the AFL bring back real Sate of Origin, having Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, The Allies and Tasmania. This is a step in the right direction and I look forward to the game.
