What is Scott Gumbleton Wearing ?

There is a lot of hype around this guy, the great Kevin Sheedy raves about him and as an Essendon supporter I am just waiting to see if he lives up to all the expectations. Scott Gumbleton has had his fair share of injuries over the past few years and Bomber fans are eager to see him get out on the park and show what he can do.
Down at Bomber Land they are singing his praises so far during pre season and say he is on track for NAB Cup selection. On another point, WHAT THE HELL is he wearing, it reminds me of Seinfeld’s character Kramer and the manzier ! Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is and what is it’s intended purpose?
